Committee

El Capitan – Jez

I’m Jez. Mostly a trad climber, but occasionally branch out to do a bit of bouldering, sport or winter climbing with varying success. Always happiest at the top of a good route after a struggle.

Vice-Captain – Jordan

I have spent the majority of my time sport climbing, but have recently stepped into the awesome discipline of traditional climbing. I am hoping to get some good ice/mixed routes ticked off this winter, but my main goal for the year is to get some hard bouldering done!!…………..

Treasurer – James

Hello, I’m James from Cambridge and I am in my second year studying Sports Science (ODA). I started rock climbing last September when I started university. BUMS helped me get really into the sport so I want to help put back into a club that really got me hooked! Now I’m psyched to get you all climbing as much as possible! I’m the treasurer this year so probably the lease popular committee member as it’ll be me you BUMS will be handing your (not very) hard earned student loans over to! – Although this is for the benefit of you and the club! Happy climbing!

Secretary – Jess

Hi i’m Jess! Currently in my second year studying Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences. I’ve climbed all throughout my life, as my Dad is a keen climber and an outdoor pursuit’s teacher. However, never really got enthusiastic about it, until i joined BUMS. The club has given me the confidence to push myself out of my comfort zone to achieve greater climbing skills. As the secretary of BUMS, i will hopefully keep the club organised and in order to make it run smoother, creating a more enjoyable experience for its members. I hope that new and experienced climbers receive the best out of BUMS, enabling them to reach the great heights of what is climbing.

Social Secretary – Anna

My names Anna and I’m the new social sec – organising social events, like nights out – therefore if you annoy me in any way you will be publicly punished on these social gatherings . You have been warned.. I have been in BUMS for 2 years now – to some peoples surprisement after they see my climbing efforts – so technically this means i should know everything and you should be in safe hands .

This year shall be awesome .

Trips and Events Organiser – Gwen

I’m studying environmental science here at Bangor but one of the main reasons I came was to be able to get out climbing. I love climbing for the adventure and being able to climb something I didn’t think I would be able to do. As trips and away person, I aim to plan trips to a variety of places so we can experience different places and rock.

Equipment and Safety – Pete

Hi I’m Pete. I’m in my second year of Sport Science (ODA).  I’ve been climbing for a couple of years now. I prefer multi-pitch climbing especially long mountain routes. I’ll be in charge of your safety so if you’re not sure about something just ask!
